Your filter and your coil: two different jobs

A filter and a coil-treatment light are not two versions of the same product. They do different jobs inside your heating and cooling system.

A Healthy Climate 5-inch MERV 16 filter captures particles from air passing through its media. MERV describes particle-capture performance; five inches describes the nominal filter depth. Before recommending one, we check the cabinet, airflow, and the needs of your equipment.

The Scorpion UVC-LED is installed near the evaporator coil. Its purpose is to treat the surfaces reached by the light. It does not physically collect dust, so it does not replace a filter.

That is why we discuss them as separate parts of an IAQ plan. Dust concerns may lead us toward filtration, while coil conditions may call for a different approach. Ventilation and moisture may matter too.

The right setup starts with your home and equipment. Tell us what you notice, and we will help you understand which options are worth considering.
